These two songs are arguably the beginning of true gangsta rap. Schooly D and Ice T made records with cursing, but these two songs are specifically about selling crack.

Having said that, there's a few songs that came out before these two, like Girl (Cocaine) Thats your life - Too Short and 8 Million Stories by Kurtis Blow.

I'm thinking I should have included 9MM Goes Bang by Boogie Down Productions. That song was about a crack dealer who gets in a shootout with a weed dealer.

Both are ill tracks, but Road to the Riches was the first album I ever bought. So I favor the title track more personally.
