lol that's true. They definitely know how to work toruists. And you definitely cannot be flashy, even simple costume jewelry here in the states is a huge money sign to many Dominicans. But I think the bargaining thing goes for any country you go to, they're always gonna try to take advantage of visitors and tourists. I remember when I went to Sosua tho, that big strip of little stands and huts selling THE same items, each one of their owners would literally come beg for you to come buy something, some even sang and danced for us just to get us to come in their shops LOL.

Go to 20 before actually purchasing the item you want. Same item in each store, 20 different prices

@ the first bolded: most of the Caribbean islands are English-speaking. So which countries do PRicans speak more English than? I can only think of Cuba, DR and the French Antilles.

@ the second bolded. From what I heard you can do the same thing in most of the islands; maybe not in Jamaica, but Jamaica is just one island among many.

the caribbean is much larger than that...it also includes central america and parts of south america...Ricans speak more English than alot of countries in that Caribbean

alright, i grew up in DR, been to trinidad (kids mom from there), been to PR (bro from there), and seen pics of jamaica fam lol. i could tell you right now. My heart is in DR, but i'd be a liar if i dont say trinidad got a lot of good things going for it. if I couldnt retire in DR, that'd be my second choice definitely, big pimpin err're

I already said I was biased towards "rich port". I didn't say all Jamaicans hate Americans. I said a lot of them do, because this is what I was told and shown BY Jamaicans when I was IN Jamaica. Most of the world hates Americans if that makes you feel any better. I love Jamaica, I would not have went there twice if I didn't, but no it's not a safe place, and it's very notorious for that. So again just because you're from somewhere doesn't mean I am dissing your country I am stating my experiences, quit catching feelings.

Step your reading comprehension skills up bruh. What I posted includes PR in a list of countries with high PROPERTY crimes, it says nothing about tourists. Almost all of the property crimes in PR are among locals and rarley against tourists. Even drug dealers there will tell you we don't fuck with tourists bc we know our island depends on them. Like I said, it's one of the safest travel destinations for tourists. You can literally walk around most places (except a few bad neighborhoods that will be fairly obvious you wouldn't want to go to) freely and safely without being bothered at all or even noticed. People don't even haggle you or beg like they do in other countries and even in some US places (at least myself or no one I know have never seen or experienced it). It feels just like being in Miami. Thats all I was saying AGAIN for the 100th time. Anyone who goes there will know what I am talking about.

Trinidad...cause I been to DR and Jamaica already. If I had to choose btwn those 2 though- DR for sure. Jamaica wasn't all that to me. DR was paradise though.

Go to TRINBAGO... I think you'll have a better overall experience because of the cosmopolitan mix up of cultures.. You can get different types of foods with Indian, Spanish, African and maybe even some Syrian styles.. Beautiful beaches, doubles, bake n shark, roti.. lol.. the nylon pool, pitch lake, carnival.. But I'm biased as well...
