Well I beg to differ since Ive lived in each area. Three Six dont appeal to many outside of the south, Mobb Deep dont appeal to many outside of the NE and The Dogg Pound dont appeal too many outside of the west. Ive heard more then enough ppl from those areas agree that they each have a "regional classic" that the popular consensus wouldnt agree upon.

I hear all that

but

if its classic, its classic

dont matter what region its from

Well I wouldnt call Up In Smoke, Murda Muzik or Dogg Food a certified classic but I understand how some could call them "regional classics". U gotta understand most people dont leave their own hoods let alone visit another region.

Im just wondering south be relevant for some time now and with luda, t.i, jeezy, ross, wayne and other rappers why none of them have a classic albums yet?????

The title is very misleading. Someone could accuse you of trolling...

Plus Scarface's catalog is undeniable.

In this modern southern era i would say Trap Musik is the closest thing and that's not a pure classic imo. That album ushered in the trap rap imo.

but check this

all those albums you named had videos on national TV

& song bein played on the radio from coast2coast

now I could overstand folks usin the term "regional classic" for rappers who are jus big in that region

but the ones you named are not only know nationally but, internationally

now if I was to say Mike J got a "regional classic" thats a lil more overstandable

cuz Im willin to bet nobody on here has heard his music

"Sippin On Some Syrup" was nationally played too but that doesnt mean everybody can understand and why It would be a "southern classic" unless youve lived or are living where that music is coming from. Just saying I know they arent certified classics like The Chronic or Illmatic but I understand why some would label them as regional classics. It fits perfect for that region and unless youve been able to experience that lifestyle of that region your prolly not gonna understand it which is prolly why you call bs
