At the end of the day its all ENTERTAINMENT. Did cats trip when Joe Pesci was "acting like a gangster" in Goodfellaz? Did cats really think Al Pacino was putting his face in a mountain of blow and letting off rounds with no fucks? How many thought Brando was a real Don in Godfather? Mad cats been exposed I.e. Ross. They just tryna blame gangsta rap as why the youth is throwed off

Difference is Pesci, Pacino, and Brando weren't doing interviews still in character. They didn't want you to believe they were those characters in real life. Ross didn't even admit he was a CO at first and even to this day he wants cats to believe he was/is some major player in the drug game.

If people want to pull the "it's all entertainment" then pull back the curtain and let's see the cast and crew.

It can and for most people it does because they do not exercise and when they eat fast food they make really bad choices

Likewise music can have a negative effect on some youth but there are people who listen to gangsta rap and grow up well adjusted so it clearly isn't a hard and fast rule that everyone who listens to it will make bad decisions

The weird thing is that there were gangs in the Bronx just as Hip Hop was getting started. Africa Bambaattaa formed the Zulu Nation as a way for the youth to focus on music and Breakdancing, DJing, MCing and graffitti and to stop the violence. And it worked. The violence and the gang culture declined in New York because of the success fo Hip Hop. Peiople could battle through graffitti (who had the dopest whole car running through NYC) or MCing or B-Boying.

But now the rappers just rap about being in gangs, shooting each other and selling dope. It defeats the purpose of what Africa Bambaatta was trying to do when he organized Hip Hop into a culture.

Yup, just like other forms of entertainment do too.

I don't know why ppl continue to focus on rap music and what it does to the youth tho. Like porn, certain video games, certain shows on tv or this hardcore/grudge rock has a positive effect on em. They can pretty much see/hear whatever they want w/o any form of id too. I remember when you I had to find an adult to go into the store w/ to purchase them cd's......
