Does Barack Obama still need HipHop?

Obama has made a point of having rappers at the white house or saying they were on his Ipod but now after the bulk of HipHop backed him in getting elected he turns his back on them to suck the dicks of those that do not like HipHop? We live in a nation where symbolism is everything and this is a symbolic act that merits acknowledgement. But I get a lot of you kats are drones not even actually living the culture you are just fans of some of the music so the insult is lost on you...

This isn't a personal playlist, it's for campaign events. There's not much hip hop out there that would be appropriate for a large campaign event.

You want a dude who was in his mid 30s when Hip Hop was at its peak to have Hip Hop on his playlist? If anything he would be pandering to the younger crowd by shoehorning hip hop into the list. Your right he is saying something to the country...he dont fuck with Hip Hop.

Obama's 50+ years old. It's no surprise that he doesn't have Hip Hop on his playlist.
here is a Obama interview from rolling stone discussing his Ipod Playlist. point being your argument is null when based on facts...

President Barack Obama sits down with Rolling Stone in the White House’s Oval Office for its October 15 issue.

Here’s what the 49-year-old Commander in Chief had to say about his presidency, what’s new on his iPod, and what makes him cry.

On what surprised him during the first two years in office: “Over the past two years, what I probably anticipated but you don’t fully appreciate until you’re in the job, is something I said earlier, which is if a problem is easy, it doesn’t hit my desk. If there’s an obvious solution, it never arrives here — somebody else has solved it a long time ago. The issues that cross my desk are hard and complicated, and oftentimes involve the clash not of right and wrong, but of two rights. And you’re having to balance and reconcile against competing values that are equally legitimate.”

On his iPod’s 2,000 song collection: “Thanks to Reggie [Love, the president's personal aide], my rap palate has greatly improved. Jay-Z used to be sort of what predominated, but now I’ve got a little Nas and a little Lil Wayne and some other stuff, but I would not claim to be an expert. Malia and Sasha are now getting old enough to where they start hipping me to things. Music is still a great source of joy and occasional solace in the midst of what can be some difficult days.”

On wife Michelle and daughters Sasha, 9, and Malia, 12: “Whenever I think about my wife, she can choke me up. My wife and my kids, they’ll get to me.”

For the full interview, including Barack‘s thoughts on his critics, the war and the economy, go to

all yall arguments about age and you ignore the facts that on his actual Ipod he has JayZ nas and even lil gremlin ass Wayne, he had common at the white house so where is the logic in the age statements. A lot of the pioneers of this shit are the same age as this man(he is 50) he has already stated he listens to hiphop it was used in his last campaign so why turn his back on it now? Quit making up bullshit excuses for the man he does not walk on water and this is a snake move against a genre that has supported him...

You do realize Barack Obama is the POTUS, right?

Nobody cares what's on his campaign playlist...you already know he likes, or at least is aware of hip hop...

Not all black (or half black) people like rap you know....

You do realize this isn't a personal playlist, right? It's a playlist that will play when he gives stump speeches while he campaigns.

Lets list some positive uplifting songs that will not be too offensive or devisive to the constituents he is trying to attract this time around with his current tracklist...

you kats do realize the point is perception and legitmacy when I speak of the afront. His campaign has blacklisted HipHop from from being associated with the president who was heavily supported by it going in. Non of that sounds disloyal or disdainful? I get it politicians are always turning their backs on those that got them where they are but a whole cultural movement gets that active only to be told hush we do not want to scare the neighbors so we better play some country? The lack of caring on the matter isone of the reasons why shit is in such horrible disarrayin the game. We are a nation built on symbolism and moves like this are symbolic...

Obama is a bitch go me anyway, he just landers to whatever demographic will support him like most politicians.

He should must use that corny BEP song he used last year.

3even that would seem less of a slap in the HipHop Cultures face...

Another gutless move by the appeaser in chief, he left hip hop off the list because he doesn't want to stand up to the bashing he would receive from the right.
