I grew up doing graffiti. Some of the most fun I ever had in my life. Haven't done anything illegal since probably 08. As an adult I really don't have time for court cases (not that I ever got caught... a few chases a couple interrogations) or even know how I would explain to my girl who I live with that I'm leaving at 2 am with a backpack lol.

Weird that you make this thread now though, I was just thinkin today about how I miss it and I need a creative outlet again in 2016. I recently hung out with a couple old friends who are still very active and I'm kinda jealous. Not only did I stop painting, after I got out of school I stopped drawing. I realized that 90% of the time that I came up with new shit was when I was trapped in a boring class. Ima try to sit down and draw some new shit and maybe look up some legal walls or something in 2016.

I can't post any pictures of stuff I painted because it was all illegal, but I found some old finished and unfinished sketches, and I never went live with the name INK so this stuff is fine

^^ The top of that is clearly unfinished, but if I remember correctly I think I intended for the bottom right of the K to fade out to a sketch like that (idk, these are all years old)

I usually duck these threads, but fuck it. I only found one of my art books. I think I have three more. These pictures are from my second book I think, the first two I got in my highschool days. My dad got me my first and I got two more after this....somewhere. Nothing much, just me killing time between class periods.

I used to sketch & write poetry. I rage quit the sketching when I was a bit younger because people kept stealing my shit, and haven't picked up the pencil in a while. I want get more into oil painting. I need the discipline to take a class.

Yea there's levels. Everyone can make something, but Not everyone is on "real artist" level in terms of senses i.e. how they see things visually in the world around them. I think anyone wanting true talent need to start with developing that first as much as possible. It's not all in the hands or wrist.

And another thing I found it interesting how some people can draw they ass off but never quite do their "own thing" with it coming up with a style of their own. Either that or they simply never make it past "experimental" stage. Or they only do photo-realism. photo- realistic portrait drawings don't do much for me anymore except give the same shock reaction over and over which gets tired after while.
