Here's why I say 1 hole. If I drilled a hole through a piece of wood, you're not going to look at it from both sides and say there's 2 holes, you're going to say it's 1 hole that goes all the way through.

It's one hole. It's a fucking cylinder. It's the same hole.

If you have a news report about a car plowing through a building, they'll state they left a giant HOLE (one) through the building. They won't refer to two holes.

Punch a hole in the side of that straw, now you have two holes.
