Of course I would like to hear a detox tho.

^^^my answer, dre ain't got to do shit he made his mark but it would be nice to hear detox and I'm pretty sure most of you saying you don't care and his sound is "dated" will be up in the detox discussion thread asking for links

I can listen to a stevie wonder n marvin gaye song n say it doesnt sound dated.i would take it as an insult and not the literal meaning

dre should put out detox...detox would break all type of records because i cant think of an album thats has been promoted for damn near 20 years...its like the loch ness monster.

Dre the most overrated and anticipated for no reason ass rapper/producer ever! Niggas aint waiting to hear a Dre verse or a dated beat with hydraulics used as a bass line.

This is why ppl don't take Hip Hop seriously.

"Hey let's go out and disrespect one of the few guys who helped get Hip Hop to where it's at! That will make us better"

Niggas I swear

No disrespect to Dre for what he's done but are you honestly saying you want to hear Dre in the mic or you honestly believe HE could produce at the level he used to. Keep it real, Dre has a sound and it's dated.

Truth be told I wanna hear "Detox" no matter what - all versions of it lol

But you're right. Dre hasn't put out a hot instrumental in years. "Smoke" ain't nice

i've been saying that Dre's been trying to find a new sound for himself but just can't. The smartest thing for him to do would've been to release the stuff he's been recording as EP's. Each w/ a slightly different sound and see what audiences are flocking to.

Then, when he finds a sound that the people are responding overwhelmingly positive to, create a similar sounding album and release it as his final LP.

i remember a long time ago when dre talked about detox he said they have some new crazy sounding drums and this could change the sound of hiphop but then nothing ever happened.

You act like dre been producing mad shit in the past few years to even say that

Personally I wasn't checkin' for the Chronic2 because it would be impossible to top Chronic1 without the entire cast that brought the heat on the 1st one like Rage, RBX, Kurupt, Daz. D.O.C....I was hopin Dr. Dre fell back and became a Mogul with Aftermath signing acts and cutting checks, not STILL tryna put out records. It just shows he doesn't have what it takes to be a Mogul like that. #NoBusinessSense

I would say The Chronic 2001 is The Chronic 2 no?

At this point, there's no reason to release Detox. Too much time has passed since the majority of heads were looking forward to it. Anything less than perfect would receive negative criticism ...so in that sense there is too much on the line and it would hurt his Beats by Dre business/image. Why fuck up the money? Like everyone has stated in this thread, he's already a mogul. He's put out so much music in his long and legendary career that I'm okay with no Detox.

Now releasing albums with nothing but instrumentals is something to seriously consider in my opinion. In his 20+ years in the game, Dre claims to have never been out of the studio for more than 2 weeks. Imagine all of the beats he's cooked up during that time? I hope he has a game plan for his unreleased music when he passes away. You know he's got some FLAMES in his vault. His team can release exclusive beats years after he's gone. Like 2Pac's posthumous music.

when he started his beat music service? Since dre stated that beats was suppose to be the future of music should he had relelease some music to start it off?

To start it off!?!? Ngga!?...

Fact: In the last 3 years with Beats, Dre has made more money than in 20 years of rapping and prodcing. This is BEFORE the company even goes public (dumb nggas: wha da mean??) and he literally might become a billionaire.

PLEASE shut the fuck up about Dr. Dre and rap. Please.

I feel that timing is everything so in that sense i think it's too late for him to drop the detox because the hype is gone.. It seems to be more entertaining just listening to the hype over something that hasn't even been released yet than it would if it had dropped already...

Of course something that came out in the 80s and 90s is fucking "dated". Dated just means when you listen to an album you know the era it came out. The chronic, illmatic, enta the stage and doggystyle, etc are dated back to the early 90s. I just don't understand why dated seems to be a insult word on here. Was relapse dated or the songs he did for game on his mixtapes dated?

When I say dated I'm saying he's not doing anything ground breaking that would provide a feeling of fresh new material. I don't think he has but one sound and the hype should signify a new era not a chronic 3 from a 60yr old not about or never was about that life sounding like the ghostwriter to whatever particular verse he spitting.

All i was saying was he could of change the way people release music , i wasn't saying he had to release detox but release an album of beats to change the landscape of music.

Alotta yall are just like Dre to tell you the truth. I think the reason Dre hasnt been able to drop is the expectations from you guys and from Him himself are way too moon level high. He is expected to change music forever after the first Chronic as well as 2001. I can only imagine how that sucks all the fun outta why you got into music in the first place. What happen to just making a nice beat just because it sounds right to you, or rapping on it because you an NWA product and just frankly dont give a fuck, you know you not ice cube but you are rebellious? Fans putting the full court press on this mans legacy is making him give a fuck and now everything gotta be change the game level or he cant drop. The ironic part about his classics tho is he probably can out with it on some " if you dont like it then so what" shit and it change the game on its own merit over time just giving people what you was happy with without this `Make music history` pressure. Let this man drop whatever he wants, he has earned a right to get a pass if its more like the firm album ( which looking back wasnt even that bad) than chronic or Doggystyle. If he want to rap so what!! Stop making a big deal about him having Ghost writers. We accept wacker shit from fools that write they own shit like Wacka Flocka and Future. All complaining about dumb shit does when it comes to a guy yall have made so self conscious is make him lag another year or two.

since he doesnt need the money he should just drop it for free...this way it cant flop and we can still hear dope rappers over his beats.
