I relate to something about them.
Biggie's connection to his mom and being sheltered away from 'hood shit although he lived in the 'hood
Hov's relationship with his father as well as his undying will to succeed.
Em's provocative speech, sarcastic humor, and the way he sees the world mirrors my own.
LL...I don't listen to his shit for deep meaning for real, I just enjoy listening to it.
Will Smith...everyone can relate to someone who just wants to bring fun and joy to the world.

I do to an extent

Jay-Z and his "grown man ish" approach. I have alot of respect for his grind and determination to get to where he is today. I am similar by those standards.

Jadakiss and his appeal. Jada is the type of guy that grew up around of old heads that will drop jewels of wisdom every so often and use these principals in life. I grew up similar to that.

And a few more but these two guys for sure.

It all depends. Just b/c u dont have the same exact experiences as _____ rapper doesnt mean u havent had experiences of a different nature that can evoke the same emotion. For example my fav. MC is Jay-Z... I did some dumb shit as a kid but I never hustled with the same clothes on 4 a week (jusat an example) but I have gone through an entire week (M-F) with less than 30 hours of sleep b/c I had 3 exams in 1 week. Different environments, different experiences, but I can relate to his ambition to be successful at what he did. I dont have the most #1 solo albums in history (never sold an album in my life) but I do have 4 consecutive semesters on the Deans List and thats more than anyone I know personally that went to college. I may not brag about publicly or in a song but when he talks about it that doesnt mean I cant relate to the pride that he takes in that feat.

its a small amount of songs by mainstream rappers that average person can relate to , so there - the message is kinda irrelevant ( to an extent ofc ), its the way they bring it to you that catches your attention.( for example clipse stand out , atleast to me) Plus the whole pros of music is to experience soemthing different from your life. would be too boring to ALWAYS hear smth about you just did yesterday.

Nas is my fav ever rapper. I relate to him even if i didnt come from the same background. Human nature always comes into play.

rappers who most effectively catch human emotion are easy to relate too, thats why we love them... regardless of the physical aspects of their stories, human emotions are universal

So yes, to answer your question
