My pops is the furthest thing from a "Hip Hop" head, hes a straight RnB/Soul/Funk kinda guy but he straight up bought The Chronic, Doggystyle and All Eyez On Me when they first came out. Nigga was rockin that shit at the crib when I was 10+ :joy: He knew I didnt know what the hell they were talkin about so it was all good, all I heard was the beat and the cuss words that came out of my parents and their friends mouths lol

My dad will go from listening to Steppin Wolf to Outkast to Hector Lavoe in a heartbeat...nigga musical taste is all over

My parents were good parents, but definitely NOT cool. Lol. In fact, they were pretty strict.

my mom was the one in the family that all the kids knew not to try. My dad was more laid back but he'd ground us, pull us off a team or worse, drop that long-winded lecture in a heartbeat.

Looking back, I'm glad they did. I had friends who had zero boundaries and it really affected them...

Been married for 40 years this year. All of thier kids are with each other. Ive seen them care for each other during sickness. They argue and disagree respectfully. They help other people in need. And they still enjoy eachothers company.

In my early 20's realized it. My folks R my people. Text or call everyday. Mom's even let me blow a blunt when I was 20 in the crib. Pops was outta town. Pops gave me game and I'm making it out here. Little things create the biggest memories. Cherish them while / if u still have them. Only get one set of parents and that's it.
