J cole's problem is he is trying to fit in with mainstream music putting out stuff that is not really mainstream material. I feel like he thinks that the pressure is on him not to change and at the same time make a popular mainstream hit. I feel like everyone is too scared to put out something that falls out of the status quo of what is considered a hit because they might fail.
