If not, then who on the list doesn't? RTD, Illmatic, RD, Paid in Full, Radio, Long Live The Kane, etc. were all hip hop classics by top 20 MCs IMO. The only one I can think of is Pac. 2Pacalypse Now was dope as hell, but I don't hear it mentioned as much as MATW or AEOM.

That shyt only became a classic, after that nigga started stating it and rubbing it down ppl's throat...

Ready to Die, the biggest rap album in 94, the same album that had the song Juicy, wasn't a classic? OK sport.

its crazy because this is true i acutally rarely hear Me against the world mention when it comes to his albums same with R U still down and Thug Life. All three of those albums are classics. As far as RD i wouldn't say it was classic because jay's style wasn't yet set and the beat selection poor on RD, BP1 sounds whole lot more dated both good albums but BP1 is overall better than RD.

the beats were whack on RD in my opinion listening to them now they sound all out dated.

This is kinda true, seems like he was chasing 95 with that album. Doesn't mean it wasn't good. Does the production on Radio and Nation of Millions stop them from being classics?

I'm not saying that because the beats are whack then the album is whack, Jays pen game on RD is on point there's no doubting that but Beats play a big factor when it comes to an album unless you going to listen to jay acapella lol.

The beats on RD are wack?...Disagree...How can you expect to listen to an album 15 years old in a genre that's sonically changin' all the time and expect it to not sound dated?

I liked the beats personally. Took me a while to get in the music itself, but they were dope beats overall IMO. I dunno, I respect your opinion tho. Same reason why it took me a while to get into The Fix. Aside from the Kanye joints, I couldn't listen to that shit for a while.

That's not always true though take for example bob marley's music that has always sounded timeless to me in my opinion, it all depends on the listener i guess when i listen to RD it doesn't have that freshness you know very well it was made in the 90's. when i listen to BP1 that album sounds like it could of came out this year. BP1 is a more complete album

Yeah I agree, but hip-hop and reggae are different...It hasn't changed much in 50 years...Hip-hop's sound changes constantly...
