Its hard for me to place Jay Z amongnst the true legends of hip hop because i really dont respect him. He sold his soul in 1998 and hasnt been the same since. Jay Z had everything lined up for him to be a true legend when he was being himself on Vol 1. he wasnt patient so he switched his whole style into a super biter and coattailer of whatever is hot. I saw mase rapping in suits then i saw Jay Z rappin in suits. I saw DMX with swizz bouncin then I hear Jay Z with swizz bouncin. I hear the south making noise then I see Jay Z coming down here making noise. Nore rappin on Neptunes tracks making NY party records and Jay Z rappin on neputunes making NY party records. im from the era where "biting isnt bigging up your brother" its exposing u as a talentless fraud who is raping the culture and thats how I view Jay Z. He has never done anything impactful for the culture. Whatever Jay Z has done somebody has already done it before better than him.
