I agree, niggas can front if they want, but Dilla is top 5 GOAT regardless of who else steps into the game in the future...

Word. Dilla was a genius at flippin/choppin samples. Dude could flow too.

Dilla got that sound that u could bump in the crib, in the whip, and in the club. Dr. Dre bit off of Dilla a few times. And Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis didn't give my nigga credit for that Janet Jackson joint that won a Grammy. Dilla aint even much care though.

top 5, naw!

He ruined the Tribe Call Quest album, doesn't have a genre defining album, and can be bland at times imo

Premo,Dre,RZA,Organize Noise,Pete Rock,Marley Marley Marley Matl, Rick Rubin,Eric Sermon,Buckwild,etc are all better

His style and technique are some of the most influential in New Millennium Hip-Hop.

That's all fine and dandy, but his music definetly aint more influential than those dudes i named and he still hasn't produced a classic album.

It's all a matter of taste, but a lot of modern Hip-Hop producers cite him as a major influence, or their music has a lot of his style in it.

Don't get me wrong, i fuck with alot of his music (have his LIbrary of a Legend catalog), i just think there are better and more impactful producers. I understand his influence on cats like Kanye,9th Wonder, Hi Tek,etc too.

He's a legend, but I don't know about Top 5. It's hard to count Dilla Top 5 without crediting Q Tip and Ali Shaheed for those classic Tribe albums and the work Q Tip did for his own solo albums, Mobb's The Infamous and Nas's Illmatic. The early Tribe albums have been cited as influences of Neo-Soul particularly the first D'angelo album which is credited with starting the movement. Then there's cats like ?uestlove and what he's done w/ the Roots.
