No Limit had everyone on their label drop an album. It was a case of quantity vs quality. Most of the cds went at least plat or gold.

This is something you will never see again

It Ain't My Fault was tight but I can't cosign the rest of the album.

Do any of those albums still have replay value?

I was listening to Ghetto D a few months ago. That still stands the test of time, but what about the rest of that stuff?

I know Mystikal up to Ghetto Fabulous did well, Fiend and T1IEF, C-Murder and LOD, Master P up until at least Da Last Don, The I Got The Hook Up sdtrk, Snoop's joint, Silkk up until Made Man... I think Mia X even did halfway decent. A few of my niggas had her joint and it was cool.

After that, I'm not as sure. I know I had that Mac joint, but I was like the only one. They had a pretty good run thinking back.

I hate when anybody tries to undermine what No Limit did.

They had 23 albums drop in '98 and damn near all them shits went gold or platinum. And yeah, Silkk was part of that (he actually had two platinum albums) but that's even more of a nod to P's ability to market and push his artists.

He brought Mystikal to the mainstream, saved Snoop's career (and his last two albums on NL were two of his best) and, by today's standards, had a whole stable of lyricists with Mac, Mia, Fiend, Slim, Kane & Abel and Young Bleed.

@ the bolded. I believe you when you say Master P dropped 23 albums in 98. Not sure if I believe that most of them went gold or platinum but I guess anything is possible. But the question remains; were any of those albums any good? And do they have any replay value?

I know Bad Boy sold 30 million records in 1997 off 3 albums, Life After Death, No Way Out and Harlem World and the singles that accompanied them. But most people would agree that those albums (and singles) stand the test of time.

Death Row sold a lot of records in the mid 90s too. Most people will tell you those albums stand the test of time.

How about those No Limit albums? Anybody still bump those?

did they sell? wikipedia and riaa will tell you

did they have replay value or sound good? at the end of the day it depends on your taste

do u need to stop making threads?

I just checked wikipedia and like 9 or 10 of those 23 albums in 98' didn't see gold or platinum.

i think 5 grand isnt even from this country. he tries to overcompensate by studying certain "legends" so he can come across as some knowledgable oldhead, but if u look at his post it just shows that he wasnt even into hiphop when certain things were going on.

i dont like no limit but its hard to judge them from todays standards. their music was dope back in the day believe it or not

Idk..I don't really care if they don't have replay value to most people.

I still bump em...NL had a hard discography. Not all of it was good but they had tons of albums that you could play all the way through. Check Fiend's two albums, C's debut, Mac's two albums, Mystikal's two albums, I'm bout it soundtrack, down south hustlers, west coast bad boyz II, TRU 2 Da Game...shit that's 10-11 albums right there you could roam through.

Beats by the Pound don't get their props like they should.
