Yes Rakim was around years before AZ but back in the 80's his flow was basic on his later albums it sounded alot like az flow to me, maybe you fools should go listen to the albums im talkin about before you comment.

Im 23 and have alot of respect for Rakim, no doubt he did alot for hiphop but his flow back in the 80's was very basic compared to a rapper like Biggie for example.
I just noticed that his flow was alot like AZs on the albums he released in the late 90's u tryin tell me this isnt AZ's rhyme pattern?
