alot of this stuff is very obvious if u are "of age"..but it seems fun to do so i'll play along:

Cuban link flooded Jesus=Diamond studded Jesus pendant on a cuban link chain

Rossi and Martini sippin, Sergio Tachinni flippin mad pies
low price, I blow dice and throw em
= he's drinkin fine liquor and martinis while wearing Sergio Tacchinni, he also sells ounces of coke for a low price while describing his technique in playing the game of Ceelo.

I don't stunt, I regulate Henny and Sprite, I seperate, watchin crab niggaz marinate=He doesn't just talk crazy, he also acts out what he is saying. He prefers to chase Hennesy with sprite rather than mixing them together in the same glass. While doing this, he stays in the background watching the wannabees and attempted gangsters act foolish for attention.

You must be buggin out, new to my shit, home on a furlough=a furlough is when you get out of jail temporarily because of a funeral or to pretty much ease your way back into society if you only have a small amount of time left on your sentence..kind of like work release. He's saying that in order for you to not know that he is hot, means you must have been in jail and just came home from a long bid.

Israelite books, holdin government names from Ness= the previous bar blends into this one, as he says his interest is reading Israelite books among other things.

You be aight like blood money in a pimp's cum= the lyric is "blood money AND a pimps cum"..the meaning im not too sure about tho.

Remi on imaginary graves, put my hat on my waves Latter Day Saints say religious praise=pouring out liquor for the dead as he puts his hat on, in the street he hears religious people sing praises from a near by church i assume.

Yo the system wants the coon's noose, hang em high
Courtrooms filled up= the current judicial system is set up to unjustly incarcerate african americans
it's off the hook while I just wrote a statement, like I'm facing twenty years
in the basement=he wrote his plea to the judge as if he was facing more time than he actually is
- chilling on the via with Mumia= chillin in a "villa" with mumia means that if convicted he would be sharing a cell with mumia abdul-jamar who was sentenced to death for allegedly murdering a philly police officer.
for wearin chrome - I told the judge snakes slither like Sharon Stone, but like Capone I'm thrown (yo)
=he's being charged with possesion of a weapon but telling the judge he needs it because of the shady people he interacts with daily.

Dime sack lacin, court pen pacin= his pen is pacing the paper waiting for an idea to write down

mad leak and battered wives= i'm assuming he's talking about people beating their wives while under the influence of smoking wet since its also called Leak lol but who knows..

While the real McCoy dopefiend, named Detroit is still dealin boy Coke suppliers actin biased
Cause rumors say that niggaz wear wires and we liars= detroit is known for heroin, boy is another name for heroin, the dealers don't associate with people they think are snitching.

just the killer in me, slash drug dealer MC, Ex-slug filler, semi mug peeler=he was a shooter who is now an mc

rough Hoes witcracked out pussies and buttholes=cracked out whores
Bring the G's and the D's roll, they can't touch those=we make the money and the undercovers cant catch us
Why shoot the breeze about it, when you could be about it?=why talk it when you can live it
My degrees are routed, toward the peasy haired brick houses=? lol
instead of the fake medallions
Rich niggaz transport in thousands
Foreign cash exchange amountin to millions
Doors is locked, rocks is chopped, watch the cameras in the ceilings
=he just tallking some big drug dealer shit

I bet it be some shit when we connect with Stretch
When we catch them sex niggaz with the tecs you blessed, word= i guess they plotting on killing some one
Time is money when it comes to mine, take it in blood=can't waste time waiting for some one to pay him so he'll just kill em

what does this mean?

Cause the nigga wear a kufi, it don't mean that he bright
Cause you don't understand him, it don't mean that he nice
It just means you don't understand all the bullshit that he write

"You just a ruthless dog, your kennel is waiting
You devils will run back into the caves you came from
Whenever that day comes, forty-acres, plantations, seein' the race won
Sincerely yours, Street's Disciple, revelations

^^^Awesome verse but what is the Black dude talking about??

C'mon Nas is a simpleton. That shit sounds like a quote from a spike lee film.

Nas is not deep. Africa. Slaves. Old school. Watching people as if it was me out my mommys window. That's his formula. Now you can be nas.

I don't recall a post in this thread saying Nas is "Deep". A poster asked some questions about Nas's lyrics. Perhaps, the T/S is from another country, from an area in the US where Nas's Slang isn't used or to young to be familiar with Nas's usage of Slang. The T/S didn't asked Nas's DEEP lyrics be deciphered. Just the slang.

I wasn't responding to t/s. Your not to deep either.

Must be a nas fan................NI99ER (drake voice)

It doesn't matter who you were responding to. No one mentioned Nas being "Deep" accept you. I mentioned the T/S only to show how far off the topic you are and for no reason at all.

He allowed his personal feelings and emotions to override sound logic and reasoning.....

I have heard many whites say that they find it difficult to relate to Nas Afrikan-centered references and culturally-specific rhymes...they cant relate.

Those that cant relate and who feel left out mainly display their anger and dismay with an unbridled hatred for Nas similar to Tea-Party racists towards president Obama.

Yeah' I didnt alter her quote, she actually said that....even tho' Cormega was in jail at the time, never said he wrote any songs on Illmatic, and the lyrics sound nothing like Nas.

I guess she thinks Mega ghost-wrote "One Love" to himself.

Yo, I'm wondering if someoen can help me decipher some of the Nas' slang and expressions on this track. Especially those familiar with 90's East Coast/NY slang. I bolded the parts I found ambiguous. A lot of this shit I'm familiar with and have a good sense of what he's saying, but I just wanted to get some opinions on the meaning of some of these lines anyway.

Yo; I never brag, how real I keep it, cause it's the best secret
I rock a vest, prestigious, Cuban link flooded Jesus he is describing what he's wearing ... a bullet proof vest, a cuban link necklace with a jesus medallion that is covered in diamonds

Mega popular, center of attraction

Stans do say the darnest things. When are people like Shady Team going to learn that Eminem isn't paying your bills.

Thanks for everyone that helped decipher the track. I'm not sure what it means to be of "age," I'm black and in my 20s, but I just wasn't entirely clear on some of the slang on this track. Of course I wasn't saying anything about Nas being deep, but this is one of my favorite rap joint ever, so obviously I'd like to know what everything means perfectly.
