I never gave it much thought, but After Dre, Snoop and Pac bounced. Why wouldn't you take Puffy's formula, which was actually originally Hammer's formula in the first place. Get Kurrupt to write the rhymes and put Hammer in the front with a shiney suit and dancing over a popular 80s sample. They're stupid for not doing that.

Again, Suge got locked up right after so the momentum they had died out because the head was not there and both of the big stars of the label were not there anymore, if Suge had not got locked up I'm pretty sure he could have kept the label up.

When he got out, the momentum was not there anymore because Roc-A-Fella, Ruff Ryders, Cash Money and No Limit were on top at that time, Pac's posthumous albums were the only thing keeping Death Row up for so long while Suge was in prison.

Yeah Suge tried to get it back running with Eastwood, Crooked I, Kurupt, Lefteye, The Realest, Topp Dogg and Petey Pablo but, it was too late, that's the only reason why Death Row did not last as long as Bad Boy.

Just think if Diddy had got locked up over that club shooting, do u think Bad Boy would have made it?

No because Diddy was the head and without him there Bad Boy would have went down too.

I still fail to see what Suge Knight getting locked up had to do with the downfall of Death Row. It always seemed like he was just a face and an image. I don't know too much about his business acumen, but it always looked like Dr. Dre was the nucleus of Death Row. He had success with finding talent and producing hits before, during, and after Death Row. Suge will always be respected for acquiring some of the talent, but look at Dre post Death Row vs. Suge after he was released and tried to salvage the label. One is still putting out successful artists and the other is well ...

I know Suge got Dre out of his contract with Keller, but it still looks like Dre was the better businessman.

Keller was the one that was the businessman, not Dre yeah Dre has Aftermath popping now but, do u remember The beginning of Aftermath? Exactly Aftermath first releases, Dr. Dre presents Aftermath cd and The Firm cd was not as successful and it wasn't until he signed Eminem that Aftermath took off.

Suge wasn't the face of Death Row remember he stayed out the spotlight the first 3 years and it wasn't until The Source Awards when we knew who Suge was, Dre was the face and Keller and Suge were the ones doing the business side, Dre said it in a interview that was the plan so he could concentrate on making music.

Biggie is better than any album, artist or anything ever released from death row.Snoop 1st album is garbage, chronic 2001 was garbage, all eyez on me is garbage

Big>>>>>>>>>Their whole roster

Biggie was the better technical rapper than most Death row artist not named Kurupt, Big after all was an east coast dude, so he would place a higher emphasis on lyrics more than an west coast artist would. So he would rap circles around Death Row. But it's safe to say that Bad Boy wouldn't have been Bad Boy as we know it had Dre not made the Chronic and Pac not giving Big helpful advice when Big was coming up. Remember Puffy and Big used to say that they were trying to make an east coast Chronic because they were inspired by it alot. Big's biggest singles off Ready to Die had a more west coast sound than most east coast rap at the time which made it stand out even more (the orignal Dead Wrong was mad west coast too)....they mimicked the G-Funk sound, which Dre pioneered. Snoop is mentioned on the intro on both of Big's albums (the track is playing on the R2D intro, and he mentioned Snoop on the intro in LAD). Dre's voice is sampled on the hook on Things Done Changed. Basically I just think there wouldn't be a Bad Boy as we know it without Death Row, they obviously followed alot of their blueprint. Compring both labels from 92-97, Death Row has the edge. Bad Boy could've been stronger than what it was, but they say Puff only focuses on one Hip Hop act at a time, and after Big did better than what Puff had originally expected, he latched on to Big and ditched Craig Mack...when they could've been a force if Puff let them all shine.
