Big ass lawsuit

Yeah good luck with that. The only harm here is to people's feelings. They just go back to their teams or get traded elsewhere. They ain't gonna sue.

Paul doesn't have a non trade clause? I guess what I'm asking is if he was traded to the Wizards, he couldn't put a stop to it? Short of just refusing to play?

No i thought u were saying "Ive seen players block trades before" , and i was saying thats cuz they most likely had a No Trade Clause in there

and no Cp3 doesn't have one so yea if he were Technically traded to the Wizards he'd have to go , but he would make it pretty known that he wouldnt sign an extension ...which is aka for "i dont want to go there" when you're in the last year of your contract

you know one thing no one mentioned was that the hornets is controlled by the league so was this trade offical, then stern jumped in? or was it still being discussed and stern said no to it? because if so their must of been a huge miscommunication between the person who makes the roster moves for the hornets( an NBA exec.) and the commissioner. humm it's kinda like the league cut it's self off.

edit: oh yeah i forgot about the nba owners bitching about it.............. nvm this post. im sleepy.

when you and your camp make it known that "NY and LA are places i would sign extension to" ....thats pretty much the same thing

That's why I said earlier that these players need to put out statements sayin they really want to go to *insert shitty team here* and say how they don't wanna play for the team they actually want to play for. That's really the only way around it for the players. Then get all sad when they het traded to
That team. I guess. That's what I'd do at least

thats tough because the hornets is owned and ran by the league. they don;t wanna give cp3 to a team that could load up for their own "big 3" with dwight howard, but they did have the best value in the trade back to them.

the league is kinda caught in the middle here. this goes to show you a league should never own their own team. word to the la dodgers.

can't tell david stern that....he would have a team in all 50 states if he could

Just to be sure this only happened because the nba owns the hornets right? If it was with any other team it would've went through right?

And I guess for whatever reason, Stern wants the players to control
Their destinations when they are free
Agents, not when they are under contract. Even if it means the teams like the Hornets suffer if they don't trade him cause they get nothing in return. Which doesn't really the small market teams that these great players usually leave. They get no chance to rebuild through the trade

The salaries didn't match up in the trade either so this trade wouldn't get approved anyway

Yea i guess, i think players take too much heat for stuff like that when the Owners will sign a player long term and in one or two years try and trade u to some bullshit team in a bullshit city

People get on the players about their situation but fail to realize a lot of times when a player signs a long term deal these guys buy houses, move their family out there , get business ventures, kids in school there and so on..

they bring you in selling u on the entire city, team, and future of what will be going on and take u out on dinners hoping u sign a long term deal and year or few they turn around and ready to dump u off somewhere

it aint just basketball, we're just fans of the game and wanna see the excitement , to them it's more than basketball..

somehow when it's the players "Its selfish" "arrogant" "spoiled" but when the owners do some shit "it's business"

i dont have a problem with a player making it known where he wants to go play , hell the owners dont give players heads up majority of the time that they're about to be traded , Deron Williams last year was a prime example , dumped his ass off to NJ in a heartbeat

So with that said, stern cant stop small market teams from getting worse.

Shit wanna bet

he is under a contract, and the league blocked it under protest by other league owners, which is in right their prerogative because the hornets is owned by the league. he has no legs to stand on in court. if anything the nba union might say something but they ain't shit anyway lol

when a team in any sporting league is run by the league in fairness the other franchise owners has a say in anything that team does, this is protect the integrity of the league. you dont want the league controlled team doing shit that can give them an advantage over other.

File a lawsuit on what grounds?

He's not getting traded cuz owners are mad, and dont want lakers 2 have super team even tho the only superstars would be kobe and cp3. But nevermind the big 3s and big 4 in the nba.
