David Stern was DIRECTLY responsible for Mike's (and Larry, and Magic's) superstardom. Before him games were on fucking tape delay....TAPE DELAY. The NBA first major league to launch in-house international TV distribution and operations. He brought cable contracts (TBS doesnt exist today without the NBA in the 80s) that made it possible for Nike's marketing machine to take over. You think Mike is getting the Nike deal without live games? Without a regional cable coverage?? Stern brought NBA players to the Olympics....you think Mike becomes the international superstar that he is without that kind of exposure?
