I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. 30 secs of shaking doesn't really compare to hours of having your crib feel like its about to be blown away. Being in the vicinity of a tornado when it touches down is worse than both though. In that situation, all you can do is hope it doesn't come your way because you know if it does, you're fucked.

I was just coming back from Deptford, NJ, and I noticed my car was rocking back and forth as I stopped at a light. I thought it was the cars on the other side passing me, and I was like "is something wrong with my car?" Then when I was driving I felt a weird vibration under me as I was driving, I didn't know what was up but my car was fine it didn't stop working on the street or anything, I get back around my county and go to a friend's house and my friend's like "did you feel that earthquake just now" I was like WHAT, thats what that was??

Might have been an aftershock then. The rumbling was too sustained to be a passing truck or anything simple like that.
