You call that singing lol more like yelling/crooning

Go listen to the real singers like maxwell, Whitney or Trey Songs and Chris Brown and tell me how he sound compared to them

Saying cole or future can sing is a insult to Luther vandros or any other singer for that matter

Point was for a rapper, he has that extra versatility that Kendrick doesn't offer. I didn't compare him to RnB greats and never would.

I think that Letterman performance was brave af, but he pulled it off.

Now that I can co-sign

Cole fans from the warm up friday night lights era been trina tell niggas about how loyal and dedicated his fanbase was. Now you may not like his music which is fine or think it puts you to sleep. But going to a few shows before cole even dropped 1 studio album those shows were live as fuck. White girls black girls and men of all races were at those shows. The fans new all the words and he was selling out every college spring concert during my late college years between 2010-12.

On the IC everyone was clowning cole about how he couldn't release an album and didn't have hits. Meanwhile in reality outside the IC he was really blowing up. Nigga went head to head with blink 182 and beat them to be #1 on billboard. Blink 182s album was highly anticipated by the large rock/punk rock fanbase as they hadn't dropped in a minute. But cole outsold them with his rookie album which BTW was average imo as a cole fan.

He doesn't have as many fans as Drake or Kanye or Wayne etc etc etc. But the fans he had were truly loyal to buying his albums and going to his shows. That is why cole went plat. Yes kendrick did it yes drake went plat too. But cole has always had a more loyal fanbase than some of those niggas.

yeaaaaa......don't do that. That performance isn't up for proof of Cole singing for niggas to dog him out on it. That right there is a classic performance not by Cole but for Hip Hop in general....choose another song for entertainment purposes.

I didn't realize he was doing it like this. I also didn't realize he had two platinum albums. I like his work but was never too into him, I like wale and kendrick more. But I can't deny his success. This is dope.

Can Travis Porter even sell out a bingo hall?

What Travis Porter got to do.with cole

They two different types or artist

Different fan base and music worlds apart

In 2011 a poster that shall remain nameless said that Travis Porter will have a better career than Cole. Since Cole has proven him wrong I'm making sure to remind him because I know he's lurking in these threads. He hasn't posted in a Cole thread since Cole's career took off after the first album.

Yea man, my boy done came up proper

J.Cole >>>>>>>>>> Kendrick

Lets argue about it...

Not much to argue. Kendrick is a better rhymer, and has a better team around him.

No diss to Cole though; the fact that he's doing it big, and the fact he's doing it HIS way versus trend hopping is great for the culture.

TDE? hmmm ok

Cole produces his own albums

2 Platnuim albums and one at 700k + all self produced.

He can perform live better than Kendrick

He can sing

He showed up at the protests, by himself and supported.

Better rapper is subjective.

Got the Janet feature after she been out the game for years whilst Kendrick appearing on Taylor Swift singles. I think the kid smashing Janet Jackson (if true thats all he needs to be >>>>>Kendrick)

Sold out show Madison Gardens.

Meanwhile Kendrick got one plat album....

Stop it

you dumb niggas realize hes on notorious label for buying its own artist albums to build hype.

never forget when jayz blueprint sold an underwhelming luke warm 300k first week, then some how the 2nd week matched 300k again. Eminen, taylor swift, and kate perry could never do that with there 2nd week sales but somehow hov did lmao.

the only way to top your first week sales is if you were a unknown mainstream artist, then its very possible to blow up later. but jays album was well promoted and hes 1 of the biggest names in the game, blueprint 3 sales were BS

btw the album was great though, but never believe first week sales.

Nah I prefer Cole slightly. Don't see how Kendrick is a "better rhymer". All Kendrick has on him is a classic album with GKMC while Coles best shit was his mixtape run and Forest Hills Drive.

If I was off to a desert island and had to choose 3 of Coles best projects or 3 of Kendricks best I would choose Cole without hesitation

I buy both artists albums...I even bought GKMC/Section 80 after I bought TPAB cause I respected Kendrick a lil more for TPAB.

I just think Cole the better artist.

signed a distribution deal with Interscope Records, BUT HE STILL SIGNED TO ROC NATION aka jay z, sorry jcole didnt have a big enough hit to do those first week numbers

On December 9, 2014, the song "Apparently" was serviced to American mainstream urban radio, as the album's first single.[19][20] Cole would also go on to release the music video for "Apparently", on December 9.[21] The song has since peaked at number 58 on the US Billboard Hot 100

niggas on the IC are fucken retarded

you don't need a hit single to go platinum

artists have been going platinum without hits for decades

it's called having a loyal fanbase. they don't buy singles. they buy albums
