Yung Thug Says Lil Wayne Opened The Gateway to be a Coon Rapper

STUNNA ISLAND Fl- YMCMB rapper Yung Thug gives credit to his role model and "hubby" Lil Wayne for how hes been cooning lately. The suspect ATL rapper disrepceted an entire city and race with his comments about Mike Brown. "My boo wayne taught me cooning gets you white fans and white fans gets you more money," said Thug.

Wayne has had numerous moments of uncle tomfoolery in recent years. From his defense of Justin Beiber using the N word to his lines about the late Emmit Till, Wayne has blazed the trail for modern cooning. Since the comments Yung Thug is getting more exposure than he expected. The KKK sent him a letter of thanks with a hefty check in it. Fox News wants to get him on for a morning segment as well.

To each his own but foh

I'm still trying to figure out what satisfaction a man gets from posting about the same artist to the point of obsession.

some people are huge fans of 1 to 4 artists and casual fans of everyone else

I can speak for myself and say the level of skill keeps me listening to a smaller selection of rappers

that other sh*t sounds weak and thy are really not weak it just sounds that way

man they paid tha nigga to say that shit. wayne wasn't the most lyrical nigga of the early 2000's era and you know this. he opened the gate way for the skinny weird looking skateboarding leopard wearing nigga with dreadlocks. that why you have all these clones like migos, 2 chains, future and them 2 skinny muthaphucas that sing that no flex zone bs.

I think some of you are missing the point. Of course lyricism in mainstream existed before Waynes run(NY is built off that), but Crooked is talking about that time from maybe 05/06-08/09 when lyricism was completely frowned upon. If it had stayed that way you would of had a whole new generation giving zero fucks about lyrics at all. What Wayne did by transferring that NY/East coast energy to down south and wanting to sound AND be dope, was that it made younger people care about dope lines, being clever, etc etc.

no 09 is not the early 2000's

What the hell is the obsession with these goof balls and mainstream? What the hell difference does it make if Hip Hop and Hip Hop culture is mainstream? This obsession with crossing over is disgusting.

say that to these niggas pockets and starving children niggas got baby mommas bitching about rent and empty baby bellys

that mainstream argument is a moot point. hip hop hasn't been pure since the early days of basement parties and whatnot. ever since the first record was pressed or the first video was made(sugar hill gang's rappers delight) I think it may gave been grandmaster flash's the message hip hop has been mainstream. it's annoying like those back packing lames in the late 90's ere talking about keeping it real and saving hip hop claiming they doing it for the love. bitch you trying to get paid like everybody else stop it. talking about saving hip hop when it been lost for about 20 years before hand. man please foh.

cosign, once you hear Tune its no point in even listening to anybody else

Word? Wayne ushered in the age of remedial punchlines and homo-eroticism!

Maybe Crooked Forgot that these (MAINSTREAM) albums were released during the 2000(s). All to critical and commercial acclaim by the way...

Blueprint

Stillmatic

Stankonia

Marshall Mathers LP

The Eminem Show

Supreme Clientele

Liquid Swords

College Dropout... Etc.

Wayne has never dropped anything that could match the "lyrical" quality of these albums

Artist today are such lames, fearful of going against the grain so they sheepishly co-sign what the industry label as "hot" and "trendy" when they know damn well that sh*t is trash!

Off topic, I remember an interview with 50 back in '08 when he said Wayne was irrelevant outside of his guest verses and didn't have any valid hits by himself to his name. Almost immediately after that, Lollipop then Carter 3 came out. Epic backfire.

Back on topic, while Wayne is one of the more lyrical emcees of his prime generation ('04-present), Crook done smoked his weight in crack sayin that shit, seeing that his boss is one of the main dudes to reignite lyricism in hip hop. Even if we're talking about from '08 and beyond, I'd give that to Cole, Kendrick and Drake, who since then has had to carry Wayne on every track they do together.

Lol i was a big wayne fan of the dedication, drought series etc.but to say lyricism and opened the gateway..hes wrong wrong lol.

And crookeds lyrical game has always been on point which confuses shit even more

This will def annoy his fan base and his he aint got the biggest out there
