Funny but there aren't any capes it's just that if you make a claim that bold you better be able to back it up.

It's really not hard to believe a rapper writes 100% of they bars. I'm sure they get writer's block but it's not the hardest thing to do in the world. You have people that knock out several novels in a year but that's more believable than a couple songs.

Niggas in the NFL play 16+ games, train, travel, workout, all that shit! but y'all believe it's harder for someone to sit down and write 12+ songs every other year? That's crazy to me.

Hooks are the hardest part of the writing process to me personally. That shit can make or break a song sometimes..

Niggas like Hov and Nas are not respected because of hooks.. They are respected because of their bars..everybody wants to hear what they have to say not the hooks

Didn't Ja write the hook for Can I Get A? Shit, one of Jay's biggest songs is a fucking Annie song. Still a GOAT. Writing a hook isn't ghostwriting, it's writing.

Here's how I see it. If I was an established rapper on a major label and one of my homies from my neighborhood came to me with an ill rhyme there's one of two thing you could do;

1. You could give him a cameo appearance on your album on a posse jam and let him spit those 16 bars.

2. Give him $5,000 cash and say the rhyme yourself.

I wouldn't be mad if an established rapper did either 1 or 2. You have to consider that some people don't have the "it factor" or they lack the social skills to be in the entertainment industry. So if they have an ill rhyme it might not be practical to give them a cameo on your album. It might be more practical to say the verse yourself and just pay him for the verse.
