LOL, I'm not even sayin it's a conspiracy but the video tripped me out. I don't think I've every seen someone buy an entire store's shelf of a CD. Dude must be Drake's Best Friend, LOL.

LOL, I knew it. It obviously had to be a friend to go all out like that, LOL. But the conspiracy theories were going on before Drake, I think the video just made it look suspect even though it was just his boy buying the records.

Niggas love to hate. Man I bought 2 albums myself at the best buy down here; one for me and one for my brother in law. The lady at the register said that they were selling like hot cakes.

Can't knock the hustle.

lol crooks and castles = clothing label doing a shirt collabo with drake
they bought most to give to workers in the company and the rest will likely go with the release of the tml t-shirt

I believe street brand ILTH in cleavland did it for BP2, cudi did it with lrg on one of his tapes, etc.

street wear brands send dudes clothes, buy albums, etc. just so they can do mixtapes/get publicity for having buzz worthy artist wearing their shit

it's a win win for both parties

Again I'm never said something shady was going on but are you really going to compare you buying an extra copy for someone you know to Drake boy cleaning out the shelves of Best Buy? Sorry I can't give you that one man. Like I said the rumors of this stuff going on isn't new.

Well I wasn't one of the people saying he will flop, matter of fact I said he was flop-proof cause of all the hype and radio play over the last year since "Best I ever had" blew. Check the sales thread, I said 400k or more. Some people do hate but the fact is I can't rule it out anymore. Yes you would think they would do that for everyone because why would they be so selective. But these "Buying Albums" rumors didn't just start this year, like I said about Jay when "Kingdom Come" Dropped it was really heavy rumors when he dropped 80% which was unheard of even for Rap artist. It's like did the fans think the album sucked that bad or was his sales a little inflated? Like I said, I never really believed it but honestly I can't rule it out anymore. It's not like the Industry hasn't shown themselves to be shady before. I get your point, people might be saying this to try and downplay Drake's sales. But the video is a little like WTF? Was it nessessary for him to buy all those albums? If anything he damn sure shouldn't of videotaped it, LOL.

Read further into my post. Def Jam has been accused of the practice way back when Dynasty dropped.

Jay Z's sales dropping 80% is not really unheard of especiallly when taking into consideration that he'd never sold that many copies in one week and he didn't have a monster smash hit. It just means that most of his fanbase showed up to the stores to cop the album in week 1. Week 2 and the weeks thereafter were fans and people who were buying on the strength of the comeback plus people who actually liked the music from the album. It doesn't automatically mean his sales were inflated especially when people haven't even mentioned the amount of money that Jay put into promoting it which included commercials that ran during Monday Night Football and him doing all of those concerts in a day. Kingdom Come wasn't a regular Jay Z release. Jay made that album a bigger event than it already was.

In defense of Drake, if the label really wanted to buy all of those albums, they wouldn't make a video. As a matter of fact, they wouldn't have even went to Best Buy. They could've just ordered the albums or bought them back from retailers without showing up physically to the store.
