lol, i'm not that young.

it's just funny how when common simps it's not simping but when drake does it is.

you stand on a woman's lawn and hold up signs? do you blast love ballads from a cd player and hold it up over your head too?

look at his location, he lame enough to do some shss like that

i dont understand why niggas keep posting a classic song like "come close" to make whatever point they're trying to make about Com. Is that really the best you niggas could come up with ?

i forgot simping is ok if you light incense and candles and hold up signs.

dude i aint talking about the videos, im talking about the music....firstly, i thought commons video for "come close" was a really good video and very unique (especially for its time) but then again i am a romantic....and im pretty sure im like the only person (common fan or not) that likes that video....
and second, as was previously stated, dude was talking on some grown man shit, drake be on that simp shit....i dont know how else to explain it lol

that shit aside....... i dont know how old you are, your knowledge of hiphop, who your fav artists are...but shit, to me.....common "simping" i can deal with, he was spitting lyrics,
the one and only line i remember from drake is "do you remember the time........michael jackson", im sorry but i cannot get down with that kind of "wordplay" its just not in me to enjoy it...im not a hater, im just not an appreciator......

The only difference is 50 Cent was using beef as a gimmick strategy for boosting record sales.

Yeah, but these young kids are scared that the next rapper they beef with can blow up and have the power to blackball them from their dreams. That's why they collaborate for the sake of money and they stay on tour. And with this Drake situation happening right now, these young ass simps don't bother with that beefing shit cause they will be humiliated.

Again, they may be homos and have homo tendencies, but they have enough insight that beefing ain't worth it in the long run.

Why is it so hard for you Drake Stans to see the difference between making songs from a relationship context, as oppose to simping bitches you don't know or making player haters anthems (Marvin's Room). Common has real rap classic under his belt that ain't on no Keith Sweat begging for pussy shit.

not close to a drake stan or a fan even.

you implying that somebody is a stan gave me laugh though.

and this is why people say hip hop is dead (in the mainstream at least). you have a whole generation of rappers who are only concerned with making money and appeasing pop fans rather than embracing some of the original elements of hip hop culture that they claim to be a part of. like battling to see who is the best. which is part of the reason mainstream rap is so stale. everyone's scared to challenge the status quo, so everyone sounds the same. this was pretty much common's whole point in the first place.

lol @ Steven Tyler making a diss track to the lead singer of some new up and coming band saying he want real rock music to come back. trololololol.

Hip Hop is the only form of music that is inherently competitive. A rapper can check another rapper. It's always been that way, whats your point?

other than that you are emotional because it's the only canadian rapper

You have a point, but a lot of the greats never battled, either. Rakim was close to battling Kane, but that never came through. Outkast never battled anyone. Lauryn Hill never battled anyone either. I agree that there should be some form of aggression in the rap game, but I don't want it to be like 02-08 again, where people beef so much that it lost its impact. Battling was best when it was rare and people took time to craft disses. Not like today, where people had same-day responses and twitter (SMH)..

Common bitching about gangsta hip-hop hence Westside Connection responded

Common starts dressing like a hippie and becomes this new age sensitive, neo-soul, soft rapper

All of a sudden this is about Hip-Hop? Really, Lonnie?

Drake? Degrassi; "I'm so proud of you;" falling in love with every female celebrity he comes in contact with; leopard print North Face; Mascoto drinking

this conflict has soft and moist written all over it

....smh

no really, smh
