How this niggu gon' be aiiiight during the mid-90's.....head on out to the pasture...then get brought back in by Obama for campaign purposes??....now he's y'all new wonder-rapper?? lol man-0-man the Kool-Aid is ready!!

True HipHop fans have been riding with Common for years, he lost some of his base when he went through his experimental phase but his new music is pure HipHop and some of his best work in years.

His activism, positive vibe, conscious lyrics and skills make him a constant entry into most Top tens and almost every Top twenty.

I'm disappointed his album wasn't projected to sell more but the quality is superb nonetheless.

I don't see how people rate common less than a top 10 rapper...like there are possibly 19 to 10 rappers above this guy.....smh

Common is Top 10, Top 15 at the least... His discography is too strong minus Electic Circus and Universal Mind Control... lyrically he one of the nicest ever...

Not a bad list...this your top 10?

Anyway some of the people on here I obviously agree should be ranked above Common on most cases Nas, Big, , Pac and arguably Jigga

Az is really one dimensional. He lacks the diversity of subject matter that common has. I would say Common has touched on as much things as Nas and Pac have. Not to mention Commons body of work > Az's body of work.

Eminem....I used to think Eminem was better before the encore flop. Eminem hasn't been able to grow as an artist. Commons work now and days far exceeds anything Em has done since the "Eminem Show"

Andre is part of a collective....he has great technical skills i just dont feel he has the body of work to be mentioned in the top 10

GFK......One of the only vets besides Nas and Com who actually have grown into a mature well rounded emcee who still makes great music. As an emcee ghost really doesnt talk about much. He has great and vivid stories but hes limited.

K.west....He has great charisma...a great body of work but he isn't touching any aspect of Common's technique.
