it aint homo. kanye and jay z openly admit that they slept in the same hotel room recording this album. they album is gay influenced hi NRG and euro electronica production plus Kanye just wore a skirt on stage and you niggas was giving him a pass for it.

It kills people that people liked Watch the Throne... kills em.

That shits a 4/5

I dug it, though my expectations from these two kinda skew my opinion of it. I like the theme of breaking barriers of the stereotypical black man and just striving for success. They definitely could've done better though.

As far as Nas/Common, I don't know what direction they're gonna take. The Africa shit has been done, and you can only talk so much about unsung black heroes without boring people to death. I say do a straight up hip hop album, raw rhymes, raw dirty beats.

C/S. If they stick to the "Ghetto Dreams" formula the album should be dope as hell.

Exactly

Over-production ruined that album

Less Is More for me

IMO 'Ye shoulda SOLELY been behind the boards/production tip on the entire album

THIS is why I hate music nerds. The album was phenomenal, and from the production side it was art. With the exception of Lift Off, most of the beats took a miminalist approach, but the arrangement made it all sound more complex. The arrangements were crazy...

Anyway, Nas? Common will need a dope producer to give the album focus and keep it from droning on forever about the black condition. I honestly can't think of anyone better suited to that than Kanye. Maybe DJ Khalil, or some of the new West producers, but beyond that... I don't know.

Well ... Pimpy Lepeau (LMAO!!!)

If you wanna argue musical arrangements on here, look no further than My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy for excellence in musical sound engineering which takes a mighty huge dump on this overrated 'luxury rap/swag' album

I tell you what. Jay won't ever rap like he used to. From his youth to being under Jaz-O, Kane, dissed by 2Pac and all that - he was at his best fighting TO the top. When he start getting praise, he lost that fire and shit. He don't know how to be hungry rap-wise at that position. Trying to please too many people and thinking he's so good that anything'll fly. I like Watch the Throne...but shit, I like Alley Boy's mixtape too. I'm tired of Kanye and Jay trying to reinvent some shit on purpose. Do it by accident nigga.

I wondered for years what a Nas/Common song would sound like and they delivered with "Ghetto Dreams". I'm definitely interested in a Common/Nas album no matter who's behind the boards, but with the way Common's rippin' No I.D. beats like they never took the hiatus from working together and the chemistry between Nas and Common on the No I.D. produced "Ghetto Dreams", why not let No I.D. produce the whole album or at least the majority of it.

This shit sounds like a terrible idea. I doubt Ill even d/l this shit unless Kayne somehow saves this travesty. Nas killing his fanbase. First that extremely weak ass DR, now this?
