Common: Be vs. Like Water For Chocolate

I know Be is regarded as the classic: brief and succinct but never having any dull moments with every single song hitting the mark, but out of the two albums I've definitely listened to Like Water For Chocolate the most. Great album

even though be is often regarded by many as his magnum opus, ive always considered like water for chocolate to be a much better album both sonically and lyrically. and also one of his best alongside resurrection

These are 2 of my favorite albums ever. It's hard to choose. I think Be is perfect. No flaws. It's Your World, Real People, Love Is... Genius.

Like Water For Chocolate has A Song For Assata, which is one of the best songs I ever heard in my life. Nag Champa, The Light, Sixth Sense, etc.

Dammit I cant choose. I listen to both every day.

Thats exactly how i feel about be. dont get me wrong, its a good album. but not great. and nowhere near the status it should be held at as being common's best album which is viewpoint of so many people. i thought dilla's production was a way better match for common than kanye's was

but hey that's my opinion. as u also have yours. its always good to have a discourse of a variety of opinions

I think that Be is good but highly over-rated ("GO" is my jam though), and Water & Ressurection are his best work.

I think "One day.." is better than "LWFC". It's excellent album, but "be" seems to more cohesive and complete work.
