Wow!

So he's still around but nobody's checkin for him?

Back around 97/98 he was all over the place. He kinda died out around 2000 and I didn't hear from him. I kinda figured that Cash Money took over, but I thought Master P stopped altogether. I didn't know he was still doing it.

I think P was still always doing interviews though wasnt he??? And when ever he done them, from I seen they always get mad praise as imo dude is always dropping knowledge and game in them... Out of all the people in the industry he is defo in my Top5 of 'people that I got maaad time and respect for'...

But yeah I think around 2000 didnt he kinda concentrate more 'Lil Romeo'??? Also didnt he stop cursing or putting out 'negative' rap???

p while a visionary, couldnt keep up with the times

he made a career off biting other peoples styles but failed to create one of his own

not to mention Cash Money completely just took over the NOLA area right when he was trying to push the OG No Limit back to the top

it started when he jumped on the bounce music wave signing 5th Ward Weebie and Choppa

nah, he took the bay area sound and brought it to NOLA.

I think, and this is just me going off the top of my head, but his Ice cream Man Album was his first album released when he came back to NOLA huh?

That album was heavily bay/west coast influenced. Mo B Dick did a nice interview with B-High and explained the early no limit sound

then after ice cream man, he was sampling HEAVY. Damn near all their singles are either direct samples or interpolations of songs.

Cash money had an original sound. NO two beats sounded alike. I dont count the bounce stuff b/c that was region influenced.

I disagree to a degree... I think he took some game from The Bay, hence him and Yuk's issues... But during the mid 90s when they were killing it with loads of artists and projects dropping constantly etc I think they created their own sound... Plus the CD artwork/covers...

I do think P saw music a hustle/business though and a way to get his family and friends out of the hood and wasnt too fussed about creativity as much as some, like I think saw 'ok thats selling, I can do that and put my touch on it'...

Around 97/98 his music started sounding less west coast but it still had some of that laid back sound

Did Master P stop rapping?

And if so, why did he stop?

I know you're old and most likely have Alzheimer's but you literally ask the same sort of question in any thread related to No Limit.

I guess thinking about it there were quite a few laid back beats, even when they quicker drums etc but not every beat, and I still dont they didnt sounded like West Coast beats per say ... I think what also gave No Limit its signature sound were the actual rappers themselves, they all seemed to have a very hard hard Southern/NOLA sound, something that the N.O didnt have before to my knowledge.. Although Cash Money wernt far behind...
