If you look at the history of Floyd's fights, he'll typically find his groove around the 4th round, give or take a round or too. He finishes strong, because by then he's got a good idea of what you want to do. In my eyes, if Floyd is getting stopped it's gonna be early. I say round 7 because if Ray hurts Floyd early, I don't think he let's him off the hook. I could see Ray's speed suprising Floyd, and Ray flooring him in the 1st or 2nd round, and Floyd trying to gather himself for a round or two.

The 4th to 6th round, I see it being a high level chess match after Floyd gets his shit together. Late in the 6th Ray rocks Floyd again, Floyd gets save by the bell. Floyd starts the 7th still hurting, and Ray finishes the job in the middle of the 7th. That's a highly plausible outcome.

The reason Bob arum is the King of boxing is because for damn near 3 generations he has consitently build up his fighters as the greatest men in the world...

I'm not saying Leonard is bad, I'm saying Bob Arum is a great salesman.... If Bob is your promoter and your golden goose, he will efficiently do his job and make you larger than life...

He built up fights with hagler, Duran, hearns and Leonard during the primes of their careers...

He was so good at his job that no one outside of students of the game can barely remember the threat that guys like Pryor and mcculom presented...

I'm saying all that to say this, ray lenard was good, but he struggled against fellow greats... who were in his umbrella, and never made fights with dangerous opponents who weren't being promoted by arum

Floyd went solo and fought everybody he could. Arum tried to block a few fights that happened later than the fans might have wanted, but the fact is that floyd still had the freedom to fight guys from other promotions, and dominated all...

Oscar, canelo, hatton, corrales, gatti, these were all fights that people felt would be to much for him, and were his greatest performances...

Leonard struggled against fellow greats? He beat Benitez, Duran, Hearns, and Hagler. How is that struggling against the greats?

No one who knew anything about boxing thought that Floyd was losing to Hatton, Gatti, or Canelo, and Floyd didn't look great against Oscar. Corrales was a good win, but that's Floyd in his true prime at 135. Floyd can beat anyone at 135, it's a different story at 147.

Pryor and McCallum could have beat Leonard, and they could have beaten Floyd too.

At the end of the day, the question is Floyd Mayweather vs Ray Leonard, not what makes this era different from that era, and the internet and the moon and stars and all this promotional bullshit you're talking about . If you can't come at me with some analysis of how the fight would take place, then what you are saying is irrelevant.
