As long as NBC has the NFL, they don't need the NBA. In fact, I don't think there's a basic cable station that has both.

FOX - NFL & MLB

ABC - NBA & racing

NBC - NFL & NHL

CBS - NFL & College Football/Basketball

ESPN is the wild card, because they have a little bit of everything, but they can't have the championship rounds/games.
