These 2 post summed up everything I was thinking when I read the article or even come into contact with people in these relationships.

I'm not knocking anybody who is in any kind of relationship that is appropriate. People are attracted to who they are attracted to but it does seem that most interracial relationships are mired deeply in stereotypes and frivolous ideas. Rarely have I seen a person that is willing to date outside of there race simply because that person had similar interest or because of that persons own merits. It's always that is the only type of person they date and so forth, which is sad.

The other sad thing is kids who grow up confused or thinking shit is sweet because of constantly not being told what's real. There are so many kids of color who don't realize that no matter how much somebody tells them everybody is equal that this is truly not the case. It is good to be idealistic but eventually you have to see the world and the people in it as what it is. If you do not then life tends to be tougher on you.

Man, I have been said this already in different posts. Even made some threads about some of the issues, and got wacked to death. Anyway, here is a list, but bear in mind that I'm a highly educated and articulate brother who isn't really checking for the more hood-type chicks -- even if they were into brothers like me, which they aren't. But: they (non-overweight women) in my age group aren't that many, you increasingly have to meet them through other people -- which can be hard if you are living in an area where you didn't grow up and you work in an environment that isn't diverse, they are highly suspicious of us if they don't know us and will stereotype us with the quickness as broke and/or uneducated (although I don't dress like a hoodlum or anything, I don't dress to impress either), the better looking ones don't do online dating that much (and many who do aren't checking for brothers), they don't chase you to the same extent, an increasing number aren't checking for brothers.
