i like how they didn't put the features in (the itunes version has the names in the composer tab) so you just enjoy the music not the name

A lot of folk gonna hype it though b/c it's real "musical."

shit is fucking fire dog wtf

live instruments+A1 sanging + A1 rapping

@stonecoldmikey

Yep, just like I said. I didn't say it was bad but I'm not hearing anything that's fire. Ppl be hyping shit too hard. It's nothing wrong with it being an okay project.

And I knew the live instrumentation would be the hypebeast go to.

It's a well constructed "musical" project. The great rhymes are definitely there but far from frequent but it's not that type of project so that isn't an indictment at all of the artists involved.

I guess the biggest disappointment is that it doesn't feel quite worth the wait.

There's nothing wrong with liking live instrumentation. I am also a musician who prefers live instrumentation.

I'm not listening to it as a rap album and I stated such by saying, "this isn't that type of project." Chance has been telling us what it was gonna be & I knew for myself what it would be as soon as I saw Donnie Trumpet & the Social Experiment as the artist.

With that being said there's this belief amongst many educated hip hop fans (talking about the fans specifically) that live instrumentation = automatic greatness. That belief is a fallacy.

Now as far as this album is concerned it's as I said before. It's definitely a quality work of art that I'll have to live with a few days. But there just isn't much on here that resonates/captures the attention. Meaning while there are definitely tracks that are better than others there aren't too many real "stand outs."

And I definitely wouldn't consider this a "unique" or "original" project because sonically & creatively it isn't much different that what I've already heard PhonyPpl do.

A lot more goes into music discussion for me than just blind praise.

The shit sound aiiiiiiight on first listen ...I didn't even feel like chance was on here enough ...it's more of a collective project With all the features ..some of the production just don't grab me tho.. it's some nice little experimental shit but nothing in most these instrumentals makes me wanna crank up the volume and vibe out like acid raps ...meh

The badu joint is hot

The jcole joint is hot

The grandma joint is hot

But none of this shit is that john blaze tho
