Have ya'll actually watched a Meek Mill battle? I saw them years ago. Dude is NOT a battle rapper. He rap fast and you can barely understand a word he says, stays messing up and then he'll come back in every battle and say "I Said" and then repeat where he messed up at, it be 3 niggas behind him ending his lines with him like all them Philly niggas used to do, and on top of all of that it always sound like he wrote the shit to a beat

From Philly. and like someone else said Meek was on the lower tier of battle rappers/underground artist here when it was popping the rest either got caught up or locked up

But what you described is perfect for the battles that take place here back then. always hated that shit. they got it from Freeway ironically. The whole Hot 97 takeover influenced an entire generation here. but the "Meek started out battling" is always a weak cop out. He never battled anyone good and was never impressive himself

Reed & Joey at least put up great & entertaining performances, meek just outyelled you. Just b/c you "started" out doin it dont mean you good at it

but meek was good at neither lol. His best work is Flamers 2. & 85% of that isnt original songs. Back from 04-08 pre Flamers days he was just a less creative, louder copy of the next nigga lol

But Meek need to tone down that voice and improve his content , he has good beat selection but his flow is the same on just about every track , sometimes it aint what you say on a beat but how you say it...

Bottomline: Before the 1st Flamers Meek was known as the loud, dirty young bul who got slightly less shine. It has very little to do with his raps per se. But for Meek to be poppin shit & talkin down on other PHILLY rappers esp one like Cass who was signed before him is just the wrong move. he should know better.
