there's been the gradual downward trend of male rappers rapping like that, but I don't think there's the same downward trend for female rappers. Since 2000 it's basically gone from Missy Elliott, to Nicki Minaj and now Cardi B. that's a slight drop between missy and nicki, then a rapid drop between nicki and cardi.
