I like the Captain A fit. it looks like the Ultimates one mixed with the oldschool one. I think this movie will do very well. But I'm biased cause he's like top 5 right behind guys like Rorshach, panther, Nova and batman

i have 550 comics of captian America on dvd but i have not read them yet...from what i know of him from the Avengers and various other media etc this is not a bad looking film from the trailer as in how his origin is potrayed.

It just a case of if they can get a decent scting job out of chris evans, that and if they dont make it over campy ( the first film was SHIT ), they need to give it a twist of Saving private ryan seriousness with a hint of humour if they are going to put him in the avengers movie.

I read that at first he starts off as a joke kinda doing speeches for troops and then gets thrown into combat and beats ass. I wanna see how the red skull looks ad if Bucky is in it.

and yes that first cap movie blew cock.

The thing that gets to me is that he is an African, born 5,000 years ago to African parents. I don't think we as blacks have many supervillians to rely on, so why not him??

I couldnt agree more, history still effects us today. Out of all those characters stan lee created the suits only allowed a few most of which are not even as popular as those well known. They could at least give us a STATIC flick.

Whoa u need to backtrack homie in another thread I was saying wesley doesnt get enough credit for his portrayal of blade...i said "most" are not popular as etc... the majority and the lack of black heroe movies made including those that have yet to seen the light of day on screen static, cage, etc. Blade is just one trilogy we have a long way 2 go

New Captain America Trailer Arrives

Chris Evans goes from zero to hero

24 June 2011 | Source: Yahoo

It’s funny how one trailer can really shift opinions. Not that Captain America: The First Avenger was attracting much in the way of negative buzz, but there’s still a lot riding on this latest Marvel outing and from the looks of this latest, full promo, Chris Evans’ journey from weakling to warrior should be a blast. Take a look below and see if you agree.

Of course, it’s tough to tell from a trailer, but there seems to be a real feeling of both solid story flow and fun going on here, with the light touches when required (such as Evans’ Steve Rogers asking whether it’s too late to hit the loo before the super soldier serum is introduced to his skinny frame) and Tommy Lee Jones bringing his usual gruff grouchiness to bear as Colonel Chester Phillips, who would clearly prefer that A) someone else had been selected to undergo the transformation and B) that once Rogers is converted, he had more than one superhero around.

But with more of the effects and action sequences finished and ready to show off, this is also packed with explosive moments and plenty of shots of Cap throwing his shield around to keep fans happy.

We’re intrigued to see what the finished product looks like when it arrives in cinemas on July 29.

Captain America Keeps Flying The Flag

Title change in only 3 countries

05 July 2011 | Source: The Hollywood Reporter

This is arguably more a curiosity than a real news story, but since the whole of Hollywood was off yesterday, bear with us. In this country it's Captain America: The First Avenger, after a brief flirtation with The First Avenger: Captain America. However, presumably aware that the US of A is not universally popular around the world, studio Paramount gave each country the option of splitting up that title and dropping the "Captain America" part. As it turns out, only three countries - Russia, the Ukraine and South Korea - will drop the superhero's name.

What this says about the geopolitical environment in those countries we leave for you to judge, although it suggests to us that some former Soviet states haven't quite given up on the Cold War, while South Korea is still pissed at that US Army scientist who dumped chemicals in the river and caused the mutation of beasties living there and the events of The Host*.

Everywhere else, Cap will still be going by Captain America, since distributors (even the French, apparently!) thought they'd lose more business by losing the recognisable name than they'd lose from Yankee-haters.

It remains to be seen, however, if the film will be released in China, where there is a quota on the number of foreign films that can be released each year. We'll be interested to see what it is called there if it does get a cinema outing.

*Wait, what do you mean that wasn't a documentary?

I'll be checking this one out, definitely. It looks like it's going to be pretty good.

I'm still not convinced Chris Evans was the best choice to play Cap, but I'm willing to see how he does. In any case, this movie looks to be better than the clusterfuck that was Green Lantern.

Worst superheroe movie ive seen..Over use of 3D CGI effects made it look like a cartoon comic book panel( would of been ok if it was sin city 2)Too much humor for cheap laughs, and a long drawn out mundane story that couldnt hold my attention. Im done with Superheroe flicks until Dark Knight Rises drops. I feel like a sellout for supporting this corny, patriotic garbage. If only I wasnt bored.........
