i know this is a troll thread but i'll indulge this bullshit...no he didnt have a bigger impact, and heres why:

Nelly did not stand the test of time...what do all those record sales mean if noone remembers you? do you think any of those 13 year olds that bought his albums in the early 2000's still listen to him today? do you think any of them still recite his rhymes? or was he just a fad (not to say he isnt talented) and a popular rapper at the time?

if anything (and this part is the part that you should really pay attention to) it is more impressive that rappers and fans worldwide still remember and idolize rakim 20+ years later even though he had no huge record sales.
