I know cats have different perspectives on this subject but sampling has always been the heart of the whole Hip Hop sound regardless, like it or not. But the aspect of sampling is misconstrued and falls under two categories:

(1) Take the original song's whole template/concept and slapping drums on top of them..not true sampling. (Diddy is notorious *pun intended* for this).

(2) Slicing/cutting/chopping a piece from the original and creating a whole new sound from it..true sampling.

Now apply those two categories and decide which one Kanye falls on.
