I think what he's trying to say is he doesn't want his career to be centralised around that and only be known as "the black guy". He acknowledges racism and is saying there's bigger issues within the league than need to be addressed but is leaving it to you to figure out and come to your own conclusions (I guess calling attention to something without directly saying it or in other words playing it safe ?). He's an athlete and saying while he retains his black pride and is for his people, he's not trying to use the race card for certain situations or be the spokesperson for racism in the NFL and wants to be appreciated beyond that.
