ummm you guys do know that it is standard for artists to perform for the executives of the record label, walmart, etc...so that they know what the product is, right? jay-z, beyonce, t.i. rhianna, madonna, they all do this shit. young jeezy sits in a room just like this and performs his whole album. it's essentially a live performance of the album. this is in addition to the album release party and alla that. if you gonna have the company put money, marketing, etc behind something, they have to see it.

this is standard industry practice, not just rap...any group. rock bands, pop bands, etc do it too.

Niggas usually have shows or a press conference. I remember Atlantic had a show featuring Fat Joe, T.I., and Trick Daddy. MMG usually holds a press conference. Who the fuck says "Surround him with everyone and make him dance". Take off the cape. Theres no excuse for this.

I don't think I had to say this but I will. The song was called Picasso Baby. Pablo Picasso is an aritist of classic proportions. Jay Z said I'm gonna perform this song in the museum and use myself as the art, hence he performing in front of people in a room. I'm sure someone could explain this enough to where it's worded better, but this performance in a room full of individuals who probably don't respect the art is not the same as Jay performing in a museum ...at all.
