Blu Ray:Yay or Nay?

What type and size TV you running. If you under 42" and not 1080p, you don't need BR.

seriously tho, a well recorded movie in standard def or basic 720p HD looks good projected on a wall. In truth, there was never a need for BR to begin with.

BR is really about storage space. If a disc can hold 50Gb, then you can pack more content on it than a 4.5 Gb DVD or 9 GB Dual Layer DVD.

I don't care about blue ray, I just watch regular DVDs.

and all they're gonna pack on it is outtakes, interviews, and other filler... and they still won't even use half the disc.

From what I understand, audio (especially 7.1) takes up a lot - sometimes as much as video.

BR is not just about movies.

As a storage medium, BR is great. 50GB on a single disc is good for near-term storage, though I still have my doubts about the shelf life of optical media over magnetic tape.

dont know where u live at but when blu rays go on sale they are cheaper than dvds....i just bought inception for 15 bucks on blu ray....its 20 for just the dvd
