Blake = with Hakeem and Tim Rookie year
The Rockets and The Spurs already had franchise big men before they got there (Ralph Sampson, David Robinson) I get tired of people riding Tim Duncan nuts, the Spurs were a championship contender before Tim got there.
Shaq is by far the best rookie since Jordan but Blake is competing for #2 with AI, Dream, and Tim

All of them definitely had better rookie season.

Blake Griffin has OBVIOUS better numbers than Tim Duncan, Hakeem Olajuwon, LeBron James, and Grant Hill.
David Robinson scored more than Blake, but Griffin is putting up better rebounding and assist numbers.
The only rookie that scored and rebounded more is Shaq, though Blake almost doubles his assist numbers.
Give the man some credit, he is a BEAST and is a legend-in-the-making.
And to credit Tim Duncan with the Spurs complete turnaround is about as ignorant and stupid as you can get. The sole reason the Spurs were able to draft him is because David Robinson got injured and missed 76 games in the 1996-97 season, going from 59 wins the previous 1995-96 season (with Robinson playing all 82 games) to 20 wins, giving the Spurs the #1 draft pick.
The next season Robinson came back fully healthy, playing 73 games, and the Spurs won 56 games with him and Duncan. That's actually 3 LESS games won by the Spurs than during the previous season that Robinson was healthy. And of course the following season the Spurs won it all in the lock-out shortened season, the year before the Lakers' first three-peat.
Tim Duncan had another future Hall-of-Famer playing with him, and their first season together they got eliminated in the 2nd round, the same result as two seasons before when Robinson was healthy, while winning 3 less games during the regular season.
Blake Griffin does NOT have a David Robinson or future Hall-of-Famer playing with him. He does have an All-Star from last year, Chris Kaman, on this team who's currently injured having played only 10 games this season. Not sure it's possible to even compare the talent-level on Duncan's Spurs his rookie year and the Griffin's teammates this year.
But does Blake make his teammates better? Eric Gordon averaged 16.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg, and 3.0 assists last year. This year? 23.6 ppg, 3.3rpg and 4.5 assists, making him the 10th best scorer in the league. You tell me if Griffin is making his teammates better.
Fact is, the Clippers have won 8 out of their last 11 games, after a disastrous start to the season. They have beaten the Heat and the Spurs, both teams which were at the top of their respective conferences at the time, the Thunder, Bulls, Nuggets and the Hornets, all playoff-bound teams with winning records. They came within a point of beating the Lakers if not for a literally last-second lay-up by Fisher. All of this can be directly attributed to Blake Griffin's addition to the team this year, not only in the scoring and rebounding that he brings to the table, but how his play elevates that of his teammates.
If not for their disastrous start at the beginning of the season, the Clippers might have been playoff contenders this year. Who knows, maybe they still will be, being just 6 games off from the 8th seed. And if they do make the playoffs, that would be fun to watch, whether they go up against the Spurs or the Lakers (doubtful the Mavs or the Jazz will get the #1 seed).
Bottom line? Don't count Blake Griffin out, just because all you see are his highlight dunks on Sportscenter or YouTube. This dude has got the complete game and has the drive, work ethic and tenacity to improve his game each and every year.
