If thats the case, than the real Rookie Of The Year should arguably go to Tyler The Creator. Shit makes me laugh to stil seel Wiz gettin nominated for rookie shit

Also, Big Sean was signed to GOOD Music/Def Jam (2007) before J.cole was signed to Roc Nation (2009).

No. Signed to Island Def Jam in 2008 under L.A Reid.

In 2005, Kanye West was doing a radio interview at 102.7 FM. Hearing about this, Sean headed over to the station to meet West and perform some free-style. Initially Kanye was reluctant to hear the emcee, however he gave Sean 16 bars to rap for him, eventually according to Big Sean "As we get to the entrance of the radio station ... we stopped in the middle of the doorway. He starts looking at me and bobbing his head,".[6] He left a demo-tape as well. Two years later, West finally signed Big Sean to G.O.O.D. Music.

G.O.OD. Music in 07. Signed his Def Jam deal/contract in 08. It wasn't until L.A Reid left that Def Jam started to promote him.

Not to state the obvious but.....

FACTS:

Big Sean's debut album came out in June

J. Cole's album came out in September

Finally Famous hasn't yet hit 300K

Cole World has gone Gold

Am I missing something here?

And the Dance/Ass Remix just sold 200k last week. Cole has the edge in albus, but Sean has had multiple hits.. plus a way bigger overall presence this year.

I can agree with u rite here. J.Cole really didn't start poppin or gettin his name out there as far as the mainstream until his album came out. I think by J.Cole's next album, people will really start fuckin wit him on that next level. Same wit Sean too.

it seems like Big Sean got more exposure than Cole even tho Cole sold more, I would think Wiz would have won tho

Good Choice

I'm not a fan of 'well, he sold....' cause that rarely speak for the quailty of music that the artist have

FF>>>CW IMO, a nice summer album that yanked vs a good fall album that doesn't get played all the way thru

If not Sean then as someone said Frank Ocean, tho Frank ain't have the mainstream success that Sean has.

I dnt care if thats your opinion, FOH with that bullshit

S/N: to the niggas who said Wale, Wale aint a rookie....already had a debut album, stop being a dumbass

No surprise

What do y'all expect when 3 of his singles have featured Chris Brown, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaji

Real talk @ the bolded, I don't understand how anyone over the age of 15 can find Big Sean entertaining. Dude is just Mac Miller with a Kanye West co-sign
