Jay-Z is not the only that's rapping without writing in Ink. Lil Wayne and T.I. claimed it as well. There are lot more then just them too.Frankizzle;1328963 said:Very good interview, lots of gems dropped -

He's one of the best battle rappers ever!!!!Frankizzle;1330664 said:True, though I think it's probably particularly annoying for BDK when people buy into the whole "writing in my head" thing when it's to do with Jay-Z, because Jay-Z used to be Kane's hype man
And Kane can rap circles around Jay-Z

Big Daddy Kane: I do, and that’s my personal opinion. Now, you take someone like [Notorious B.I.G.], I think that he was a great rapper, but he didn’t use a large vocabulary, his word play was really simple, he just put his words together a slick way and it worked real good for him. But in my opinion, I think it is good to have a large vocabulary, but that’s just for me, I can’t really say that for everybody. Because you have other artists, like I just mentioned Biggie, who didn’t have to use a large vocabulary and still got his point across and was recognized as being a hot emcee.

A lot of the rappers in the mainstream/commercial arena are really doing what they did. But I agree with you about some these new artists taking credit for things that they didn't innovate on their own.Kwan Dai;1334589 said:That was dope. I come from the era where we would argue over who was the best. Kane, KRS or Rakim. Kane is definitely top 5 all time. I think a very important bit of information to take away from the article is, who Kane was inspired and influenced by. Caz, Melle Mel, Kool Moe D, Crush brothers Spoonie G and the Crash crew were all great contributors to Hip Hop and the element of MC'ing. What these brothers were doing 20-20 years ago cats are doing now. The sad part is, most of these lames try to pass it off as new.
