Old Testament = Jewish Torah for the most part. This is what Yeshua (PBUH) lived by (you folks do realize he was a Jew... right?)

New Testament = Book largely written by Saul of Tarsus (aka Paul the "Apostle"), founder of the Christian Church, and a man that never met Yeshua (PBUH), unlike the original Disciples.

The King James version of the Christian Bible is one of several translations/interpretations of the texts with the necessary books removed from the original canon of the Bible (i.e. detailed accounts of Yeshua (PBUH) as a child).

There's a lot of differences.

I think the Tanakh is largely if not all of the old testament. The new testament is more recent works by authors, most unknown, added to the old testament to form what you have today. Some people follow only the old testament and others follow both. Most modern Christians follow the new testament mostly with a little bit of the old sprinkled in at their convenience.

The simplest explanation:

Old Testament - before Jesus

New Testament- during & after Jesus

I would recommend you picking up this book: Bible as literature

Here's some more info you can research: the different sources in the bible

The Priestly Source (P) is one of the sources of the Torah/Pentateuch in the bible, together with the Yahwist, Elohist and the Deuteronomist.

wanted to make a thread about the seven seals the other day but didnt...that shits creepy

i dont believe in it thaaaaat much tho...but some of it really

like its poetically written like the sun will become black n the stars will fell down on earth

the boom of the sun, meteorits coming down

last days on this fuckin earth

Testament is a will. Like when people leave a last will and testament before they die.

Old Testament basically = God's Old will. Mainly to the Israelite.

New Testament basically = Replaces the Old will and is God's New will to all men (Jew and Gentile).

Both have different laws, different terms and some similarities. Both from the same God.

And it breaks down further from there.

King Jame is just one of the several translations of the original texts.
