I also noticed something that easily took the cake. No jay-z? Classic. He should have easily been number 1 or 2. Giving eminem number is understandable but could easily be debated in Jay's favor. Them other niggas on that list is a no brainer. Nobody on that list dropped any albums that are remotely close to Blueprint/the Black Album or better overall than AG. With in the last decade jay has triumphed 90% of that list in lyricism, headlined shows, diss tracks, already touched on albums and made their money game look laughable. While 50 was making big money and being labeled a mediocre lyricist, Jay was making big money while being labeled one of the best rappers ever. I understand trying to usher in the "newer" generation but any Top ten rapper list designed to be positive, that includes 2-10 but leaves out Jay-z, is headache literature...

jay-z didn't qualify for the list because his debut album came out before 1999

Your debut solo album had to be from 1999 until...

Most of the time these list are horrible. LOL @ them not know when the 21st Century starts. They did that 99 ish just to include Eminem and Lil Wayne. I wouldn't want to be one of the Best rapper of the 21st Century anyway:

20th Century Rappers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> x 1,000,000 21st Century Rappers.

98', same as Big Pun. It was a calculated attempt to get certain rappers in since there debut dropped in 99'. If they did it from 2000 or 2001-Present than those artist would not make the list.

I'm laughin at the fact that BET tried to be slick and say debut rapper from '99 on and then call the special "Top 10 Rappers of the 21st Century"
BET...1999 is not the 21st century
The things they do to make sure Lil Wayne and Eminem get too much praise

jiggamane first album was in 1996

the reason they said 1999 because they wanted eminem and wayne on there.

Em released his debut album in 1996, so technically he shouldn't be mentioned either.

Oh that was a stipulation? Good looking. I don't watch BET so I didn't know...

calm down simpleton. The post that started this thread didn't mention any stipulations. There are tons of people who don't watch BET and surely aren't going to look through 40 damn pages. Learn to use logic....

How can y'all say Ross ain't been around long enough? Dude is 4 albums in. And the stipulation was you either had to drop your debut in '99 or become prominent in '99. So while Em and others may have dropped before that, not many people had heard of them or gave a shit until '99.

Naw bruh, Em went 4x platinum in '99
And as far as niggas not knowin who Lil Wayne was, the nigga was part of a platinum sellin rap group, and his debut in '99 went platinum

we never can agree on any list yet we still argue with each other like that is going to change the fact, who cares about these list at the end of the day

Nelly and Ja Rule would of been the top 10 rappers between 2000-2004. After 04, them niggaz was completely irrelevant. It's tha best of the decade, not half a decade. That's why I don't understand how drake in the top 10 w/ one album. DMX album came out b4 99

But Ross and Jeezy only been around for the other half of the decade

BET doesn't even recognize Lil Wayne before The Carter and I had never seen Eminem on BET around '99-2000
