WTF at Russo being a choice.....Vince Russo is like the Tracey Lee, or Young MC,or Billy Bathgate of wrestling. That nigga had one good idea and then after that flopped harder than that Junior Mafia album without Lil Kim and Biggie.

Cornette a choice? He aint no booker, never have been. All he have done is laying out matches and stuff (road agent stuff).

So co sign for Heyman. Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara were terrible bookers (as the WCW stint proved) CT Bully explained it perfectly above me

Vince Russo lol y'all remember when he gave davd arquette the strap lol paul e. All the way the three way dances between dreamer douglas and raven used to be goat

no russo, no attitude era...Brood, Godfather, DX, Mike Tyson, Stone Cold, Rock, Corporation, Nation of Domination, Hardy Boyz, Sable, Ken Shamrock, Mankind, etc etc...he created characters, and the Austin Vs Vince storyline...WCW...Billy Kidman, Mike Awesome, Cat, Booker T, Vampiro, Scott Steiner, Tank Abbot, (the 3 stages cage match) new Blood...etc etc...He did more right than wrong during his era in WCW the ratings went up...during his era in WWF the ratings where the highest ever & he was the reason they beat WCW...

Just read Russo's Wikipedia page. I didn't know he was that instrumental in the Attitude Era, but I did know that he almost single-handedly destroyed WCW in the last stages of it.

So, Paul Heyman wins, cause Cornette never had control on that type of major level.

Heyman is the best booker and writer over the past 20 years.

You all have to remember, the Attitude Era was a ripoff of ECW. ECW was a little promotion in the Eastern Region of the states, right under Stamford, CT. So it was easy for the WWF to steal ideas from ECW and put a tweaked version of ECW storylines, ideas, and characters on WWF TV and call it their own.

The first ladder match in WWF history was a feeler to see how people responded to a ladder being legal and used throughout a match. ECW had been doing it for a while and any type of weapon use was normal during all matches. Once the word got out of the ladder match and how the people felt about it, Razor and HBK did a couple more on PPV, which went over well. Then the idea stealing and raiding commenced.

Vince Russo didn't come up with any ideas; he simply ripped them off from ECW, put his twist on it, McMahon filtered the shit out, and we still got some odd, but memorable characters out of it all. The extreme violence and language of WWF TV was nothing but what ECW had been doing for years. Once ECW started to fade because of financial issues and the talent raids, WCW jumped in and started doing the same thing that the WWF had already done a couple years before by mimicking ECW, but took Russo's word on that he was the cause of the Attitude Era and hired him, only to find out that he was a fraud.

All these years, the people know who kept the WWF alive, indirectly, and provided WCW with talent to make them interesting, but never gave him credit, and that was Paul Heyman. From my understanding, the WWE just ran a poll or article that said Paul Heyman is the SMARTEST WWE superstar ever.
