Section 80 helped me with my sleep deprivation problem so I got to give Kendrick props for that, but y'all got to stop just be happy you weirdos got him into the final four, now put your gay ass man crush to the side and let's get the better rapper into the finals

Y'all wanna know why Lupe is better?

His bars are more clever.

His concepts are way deeper.

His metaphors are deeper.

His punchlines are better.

His wordplay is better.

His freestyles are better.

I disagree and could post examples of why I disagree, but iono if the thread need to take that turn

Kendrick says really basic things but dresses it up with his flow and voices.

Really listen to his shit and what he's saying. I'm a fan of dude. But his shit really ain't all that poignant.

What bars of his really standout...on some "holy fuck that's clever" shit.

This is the First time i heard Kendrick. Him in 2009...nothing basic about this at all.

He spazzes By the end of the Freestyle.

From this moment forward, i knew he was Special & was destined for greatness

Message, bars, Flow and Charisma.

K Dot is not on a mission to take you on some Metaphorical journey. He's more of the rapper the Everyday Black Man who's been through some shit Can relate to. He wants to Move you with Words and Sounds and deliver a message...Lupe is not as Relatable nor enjoyable to listen to.

Plus i feel Lupe dresses up his average bars with delivery and tone on some "did you catch what i just said/go look up that word and subject i just put in this bar" Smart alecky shit with the way he places emphasis on the ends of his bars and a lot of times, he didn't even say shit.

He's a great rapper...just not a Better rapper nor Artist than K Dot IMO

Are we forgetting that lupe has put out lasers, f&l2, and t&y

Kendrick doesn't have anything close to that trash on his resume

You're right he did put out Tetsuo and Youth and that shit is immaculate. You trippin trippin

I really don't see the pedestal y'all put Lupe on IDC

Idgaf how miracle lyrical you are I needed a deep breakdown to understand what the fuck he said in mural and I still can barely trust that

I put computers and networks together don't question my intelligence

If I need a masters degree in literature and psycho anylalysis to understand what your saying then your doing to much part of being Lyrically is being able to package the lyrics in a Digestable form without losing your audience

After reading the breakdown am I impressed yeah but It wasn't fun having to do that for a 8 minutes track that goes on and on

Lupe has that Jay Electronica, Andre 3000 quality just another level of lyricism. Some third eye mysticism enlighten shit about them. Kendrick don't do that for me. He's just a straight forward rapper In my opinion. K Dot is dope though.

I think there's this idea of Lupe that people seem to cling to.

That all he raps about is galaxies, space and shit. From my understanding, this nigga has never rapped about any of that until the track "Jump" and that was this year.

Does he go left and have the ability to lose the avg person? Yes, yes he does. BUT what the avg listener isn't doing is listening to tracks that resonate on a relatable level. Which if you listen, most of his shit is relatable.

For instance He Say, She Say. If anybody grew up without a parent, especially a father, can understand this song. There's no deep metaphors, double meanings none of that. You can't tell me that average listener won't be able to relate to this track. If you do, you're lying and that's what niggas fail to mention when they talk about his subject matter.

You see what his problem is

He don't know where his poppa is

No positive male role models

To play football or build railroad models

Simple and sweet!

Find me just one Kendrick joint that matches the lyricism of this. I dare you.

some of TimesNuRoman's annotations were a little off and thats an attribute to how clever Lupe is as a lyricist...

there are lines with MULTIPLE interpretations ie the line:

"There's paper on the waist/waste like Henry"

TimesNuRoman mentions the kids paperback Henry and the Paper Route as the reference:

But its also a reference to the character Henry Hill in Goodfellas who keeps money in his waistband and "wastes"/spends money like water in the movie.

GENIUS LEVEL WRITING.
