Best Producer/Rapper...?

This thread so far is a joke, right?

Let me add some names that have yet to be mentioned that should have been mentioned, if people are gonna mention fucking Mannie Fresh and Timbaland (neither should even be mentioned in this thread)...might as well throw Pete Rocks' name into the mix. He raps better than both of those other two producers.

If you're gonna have a serious discussion on rapper/producers, at least mention people who's careers in both fields can be taken seriously and aren't just flavours of the month on the IC:

Here are a few names for you niggas to have a discussion about:

RZA

Redman

Wyclef Jean

Erick Sermon

Sam Sneed

Heavy D

Pharoahe Monch

Havoc

MF Doom

Tyler the Creator

Will.I.Am

Cilvaringz

Black Milk

MF Grimm

I forgot most them niggas een made they own beats...Lol, I can't think of nobody talmbout how they were tryna cop a beat from Pharoe Monch...

Don't forget DJ Quik

He been mentioned...

By the way, being a GOAT producer/rapper is a singular title - meaning that it's preeminently a solo act. That kinda excludes niggas like RZA, Q-Tip, Pete Rock, and Havoc, whose claim to fame is being part of rap crews.

When we say producer/rapper, the people that really come to mind are niggas like Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, and Kanye - who have all had successful careers as solo artists. For sure, their work contains many guest features, but these dudes at least have definitive songs that just include verses by them.

See what I'm sayin?

I ain't include Dre because he doesn't write most his raps, and he's made niggas rich off co-producing his beats for years...At this point, Dre is the same as Diddy when it comes to "producing"...He got an ear and he got technical knowledge but he got young niggas hittin the buttons...Kanye is getting there too...

RZA could be so much better if he rapped normally. dude always sounds off, like he's trying to make his voice part of the instrumental or some shit

Off strictly quality of beat making and emcee skills... Dj Quik no contest.

Kanye's good on the beats average at best with the emceeing similar to RZA but I'd say he's ahead of Kanye

Dre and the like shouldn't even be stated as they don't write their lyrics.

KRIT is superior too Kanye and RZA in emceeing IMO but lacks on the beats in comparison.
